Single Review : Limit State “Ready or Not”
Some of you
are probably going to tell us to change our name from Lelahel Metal to Lelahel
Rock after listening to Limit State—but no, we are not doing it! Metal comes
from rock, and at Lelahel Metal, we care about the spirit of the music as much
as the label attached to it.
“Ready or Not” is a great example of why that approach makes sense. The song delivers a powerful hard-rock foundation, with moody, grunge-tinged verses opening the door to a much more explosive chorus. And yes, you can definitely hear what school guitarist Dave Wolfberg comes from. He manages to incorporate seemingly endless sweep-picked passages into a very rock-oriented framework, turning the guitar work into part of the song’s harmonic architecture rather than simply dropping in a conventional solo. Believe me, it works!
The
contrast between the soaring vocals and technically demanding guitar creates an
exciting tension, while the lyrics explore the frightening instability of
falling in love—the feeling of suddenly having much more to lose.
Sometimes
you have to dare to do something differently. That is how innovation happens,
right?
So, Limit
