Single Review: Feed The Sickness "Fading Light"
After a
17-second atmospheric intro, a sharp snare hit signals the real beginning of "Fading
Light", and from that moment the track refuses to let go. I first watched
the music video before writing this review, and during those opening seconds I
actually expected a technical death metal band. Then the first riff arrived,
and everything changed. Feed The Sickness reveals a powerful blend of
alternative metal, modern metal, groove, and industrial influences that
immediately establishes their own identity.
One of the
band's greatest strengths is undoubtedly vocalist Marc. Although he appears
older than the other members, that experience works in the band's favor. His
performance carries the confidence of a classic heavy metal singer who has
successfully embraced a modern sound. His expressive voice gives the songs both
character and emotional weight, perfectly matching the band's theatrical
"Joker Metal" vision.
Musically, Fading Light moves effortlessly between groove metal, industrial textures, and nu-metal aggression. Ozzy delivers sharp, memorable riffs that are both crushing and surprisingly catchy, while Miguel's bass provides a solid foundation. Chris deserves praise for his energetic and precise drumming, keeping every transition dynamic and engaging.
The
production is equally impressive, allowing every instrument to shine while
preserving the song's raw energy. Feed The Sickness has delivered a confident,
memorable single that promises great things for the upcoming album. If Fading
Light is any indication of what's to come, this Hamburg quartet is a band
worth watching.
