An intimate conversation with The Forrius about “Power of Rebirth,” exploring personal struggles, emotional resilience, cinematic soundscapes, and the band’s evolving identity through powerful modern rock storytelling.
1.
“Power of Rebirth” carries a very uplifting and emotional message. What
personal experiences or emotions inspired you while writing this song?
“Power of
Rebirth” was born during a period of personal transformation and emotional
struggle. The song reflects the feeling of standing in front of your fears,
failures, and inner darkness — and deciding not to give up. I wanted to capture
the moment when a person finds strength inside themselves again. It’s not only
about pain, but about rising after it.
2. The
track explores themes of overcoming darkness and fear. What does the idea of
“rebirth” mean to you on a personal and artistic level?
Rebirth,
for me, means becoming stronger after difficult experiences. On a personal
level, it represents growth through emotional battles and learning to move
forward even when life feels overwhelming. Artistically, it also symbolized a
new chapter for The Forrius, especially with the evolution of our sound and the
arrival of Bruno Pickford as the new vocalist.
3. The
song blends cinematic atmosphere with modern rock energy. How did you approach
creating that balance between emotional storytelling and powerful
instrumentation?
We always
try to combine emotional depth with powerful modern rock energy. The cinematic
atmosphere came from the keyboards, layered textures, and dynamic transitions,
while the guitars and drums brought the raw intensity. We wanted listeners to
feel like they were inside a movie scene — emotional, dramatic, but still
energetic and alive.
4. Can
you tell us about the songwriting process behind “Power of Rebirth”? Did the
music or the lyrics come first?
In this case, the music actually came first. The main instrumental atmosphere inspired the emotional direction of the lyrics. Once the melodies were created, the words naturally followed the feeling of struggle, hope, and transformation. The chorus was one of the first parts completed because we knew the song needed a strong emotional center.
5. The
chorus feels designed to inspire strength and hope in listeners. How important
is it for your music to connect emotionally with people going through difficult
times?
Emotional
connection is one of the most important things in our music. Many people go
through loneliness, anxiety, fear, or difficult moments in life, and music can
sometimes become a source of strength. If someone listens to “Power of Rebirth”
and feels understood or motivated to keep fighting, then the song has fulfilled
its purpose.
6. Your
music combines explosive guitars, emotional melodies, and memorable hooks.
Which artists or musical influences helped shape the sound of this release?
Our
influences come from many different places. Bands like Bring Me the Horizon,
Starset, Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and modern cinematic rock artists
definitely inspired parts of the atmosphere and energy. We also love film
scores and symphonic elements, which helped shape the emotional and epic side
of the track.
7.
There’s a strong cinematic quality throughout the track. Do films, soundtracks,
or visual storytelling play a role in your creative vision?
Absolutely.
Films and soundtracks are a huge inspiration for us. We love music that creates
visual emotions and feels larger than life. Hans Zimmer’s cinematic approach,
emotional movie scenes, and dark atmospheric storytelling all influence the way
we build songs. We want every track to feel like an emotional journey, not just
a collection of riffs.
8.
“Power of Rebirth” feels both deeply personal and universally relatable. Was
there a specific message you wanted listeners to take away after hearing the
song?
The main
message is that no matter how broken or lost a person may feel, there is always
a chance to rise again. Everyone faces darkness in life, but strength is often
born from those hardest moments. We wanted listeners to leave the song feeling
stronger, more hopeful, and ready to keep moving forward.
9.
Modern alternative rock continues to evolve in many directions. How do you see
your music fitting into today’s rock scene?
Modern rock
is evolving constantly, blending genres and experimenting with new emotional
and cinematic textures. I think our music fits into the scene by combining
modern alternative rock and metal energy with emotional storytelling and
cinematic atmosphere. We are not trying to sound old-school or follow trends
blindly — we want to create something emotional, immersive, and authentic.
10. The
emotional intensity of the song is very striking. How do you recreate that same
energy and atmosphere in a live performance?
Live
performances are all about emotion and energy. We focus heavily on atmosphere,
lighting, intensity, and audience connection. Bruno Pickford brings a very
emotional and raw presence on stage, which helps recreate the spirit of the
songs live. We want people to feel the same emotional impact they hear in the
studio version.
11. What
were the biggest challenges you faced while producing and finalizing “Power of
Rebirth”?
One of the
biggest challenges was finding the right balance between heaviness and
emotional clarity. We wanted the track to sound powerful without losing the
emotional atmosphere. Another challenge was finalizing all the layers,
textures, and production details while keeping the song dynamic and alive
instead of overproduced.
12.
After releasing such a powerful anthem, what’s next for Valentin Sepliarsky?
Can fans expect more music exploring similar emotional and cinematic themes?
There is
definitely more music coming. “Power of Rebirth” opened the door to a deeper
emotional and cinematic direction for the project, and we want to explore that
even further. Fans can expect more powerful melodies, atmospheric elements,
emotional themes, and modern rock energy in future releases. This is only the
beginning of the new era for The Forrius.
