Robot Witch Release Debut Album Take Me To The Show
On July
31st, 2025, Milwaukee-based outfit Robot Witch unveiled their
long-awaited debut album, Take Me To The Show. The record marks a
milestone for founder Matt Lubus, who launched the project over five
years ago as a synth-based experiment that has since evolved into his primary
creative focus. Enriched by a rotating cast of musicians — particularly
punk-inspired guitarists — Robot Witch have carved out a distinctive sound
fusing rock, punk, and electronic influences.
Recorded at
Sound Select Studios with producer Paul Kneevers, the album
reflects Robot Witch’s growth and versatility. Structured like a complete night
out, the first half, “Taking You to the Rock Show,” channels raw energy
through full-band performances, while the second half explores the after-hours
with remixes and introspective solo demos. It’s a sonic journey that takes
listeners from the dance floor to the quiet ride home.
Standout track “Town Town” exemplifies Robot Witch’s blend of spontaneity and depth. Written on a snowy Milwaukee night by Lubus and collaborator Adam, the song emerged through stream-of-consciousness lyricism, only later revealing itself as a reflection on addiction and self-confrontation.
Following the album’s release, Robot Witch brought their music to life at Milwaukee’s Cactus Club on August 3rd, celebrating with fans in a high-energy performance that underscored the band’s dynamic stage presence. With Take Me To The Show, Robot Witch have firmly established themselves as one of Milwaukee’s most exciting genre-bending acts, setting the stage for what’s next.
