Creatures of the Edge Unleash “Wolves Eve” – A Genre-Bending Soundscape
Oxnard-based
project Creatures of the Edge, the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Justin
Sanfilippo, has released its latest original single, “Wolves Eve”,
on June 30, 2025. The track is a bold testament to Sanfilippo’s versatility as
a musician, arranger, and producer, blending live instrumentation with
electronic elements to create a sound that defies easy categorization.
Inspired by
Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series—specifically Wolves of the Calla—the
song captures the foreboding atmosphere of a town bracing for an inevitable
confrontation. Through layered guitars, bass, drums, VST horns, and organic
percussion—including quarter note tambourines played by Sanfilippo’s
five-year-old daughter—“Wolves Eve” fuses human authenticity with
cinematic tension. The production reaches unexpected heights with a clean,
powerful dubstep drop, bridging EDM energy with rock-driven grit.
Sanfilippo cites influences ranging from Detox Unit and Clozee to Circa Survive and Bad Religion, weaving together threads of EDM, progressive rock, funk, and punk. The result is a track that feels both nostalgic and futuristic, a sonic cocktail that nods to the past while carving out new ground in the 2025 music landscape.
Mastered by
Camilo Silva, “Wolves Eve” stands out for its clarity and depth,
balancing chaotic energy with a cohesive, organic core. With no reliance on AI
and every note performed by hand, Creatures of the Edge deliver a refreshingly
tactile sound in an era of digital shortcuts.
Dark,
funky, and forward-looking, “Wolves Eve” is more than a single—it’s a
vivid statement of artistic intent.
