Single Review: 9 o’clock Nasty – “Love in the Circle”
With “Love
in the Circle,” 9 o’clock Nasty delivers yet another electrifying,
genre-bending gem—an irresistibly sleazy anthem for the disoriented,
disillusioned, and dangerously in love. The Leicester trio blends seductive
basslines, nocturnal grooves, and lyrical mischief into a track that feels like
eavesdropping on a decadent late-night confession. It’s smooth, strange, and
strangely profound.
Anchored by
a slithering rhythm and their signature post-everything punk flair, the band
tells a tale as absurd as it is familiar—lust clouding judgment, awkward social
etiquette colliding with moral chaos, and one man's tragically misguided
attempt to engineer an orgy at a dinner party. But beneath the absurdity lies a
deeper question: in a world this crowded and corrupted, is it still possible to
be horny and righteous?
As the
third single from their upcoming LP Chaos, “Love in the Circle” feels
like a decadent appetizer—equal parts playful, provocative, and polished. It
oozes the attitude fans expect from 9 o’clock Nasty, with enough sharp edges to
cut through the late-night haze.
We love
this single and can’t wait to hear what twisted brilliance the band brings
next. “Chaos” can’t arrive soon enough.
