Single Review: CJ Seventy “Got It Right”
There is
something refreshing about a rock song that doesn’t need darkness, drama or
complicated storytelling to make its point. With “Got It Right,” CJ Seventy
delivers a warm, feel-good rocker about love, companionship and appreciating
the person who makes everyday life feel a little better.
The track
opens with a relaxed, shimmering guitar presence before gradually building into
a catchy and punchy rock chorus. The production keeps things straightforward
and accessible, allowing the guitars and vocal melody to remain at the centre
of the song. There is a classic-rock sensibility running through the track, but
“Got It Right” also carries a modern, polished feel that keeps it from sounding
like a simple throwback.
Lyrically,
Christopher Holm focuses on the little moments that become meaningful over
time. Waking up together, staying in bed, going out all night and still sharing
the same smile ten years later — the song celebrates a relationship that has
survived the passing years without losing its spark.
The
accompanying video expands that message beautifully, portraying couples from
different walks of life and showing both the sunny and stormy sides of
relationships. The guitarist performing in the rain is particularly effective,
while the guitar solo provides a natural lift as the song moves from intimate
reflection toward celebration.
“Got It
Right” is an inviting introduction to CJ Seventy’s catalogue: melodic,
guitar-driven, positive and unapologetically rooted in the joy of rock ’n’
roll.
