Single Review: Blood of the Argonaut “Hold the Line”
We meet
Blood of the Argonaut again, having previously reviewed their single “A Light
Went On,” which will also feature on their forthcoming album, The Brutal
Truth. Back then, we praised their ability to combine hardcore aggression
with crushing groove metal, and “Hold the Line” confirms everything we said
about this British band. These guys mean business!
The
difference this time? Instead of an animated video, we finally get to see the
band in action, and that changes everything! From the opening seconds, Blood of
the Argonaut launch into an uncompromising assault that feels like stepping
straight into the New York hardcore scene of the mid-90s. The riffs hit hard,
the rhythm section delivers a devastating punch, and the vocals unleash an
incredible amount of energy, combining pure hardcore aggression with occasional
screams that add even more venom to the attack.
I
particularly enjoy the little instrumental interlude in the middle, offering a
brief moment to catch your breath before plunging straight back into this
magnificent chaos. The groove is infectious, the attitude is unapologetic, and
the whole performance has that raw, old-school spirit that makes you want to
move.
Let's face
it: we love metal for the sheer energy it gives us, the kind that gets our
blood pumping and puts us back on our feet! “Hold the Line” delivers exactly
that. Bring on The Brutal Truth!
