Celebrating her induction into the TJPL News Class of 2026 as the first Argentine indie artist honored, Denisse Ferrara discusses “The Return,” Cries Of Redemption’s emotionally charged modern rock collaboration blending cinematic experimentation, raw vulnerability, and nearly two decades of Ed Silva’s uncompromising creative vision.
1. Your
collaboration on “The Return” showcases a very deep emotional and narrative
performance. How did you approach embodying such a complex dual-perspective
story?
The songs from COR are simply wonderful. I genuinely enjoy interpreting the meaning behind every word. Being the voice of The Return fills me with pride.
2. As a non-native English speaker, you worked with metaphor-heavy lyrics.
What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them to deliver such an
authentic performance?
Ninety‑seven percent of the time, I sing in English, so the real challenge wasn’t the language itself, but capturing the composer’s essence and replicating exactly what he heard in his mind. Achieving that was both a challenge and a joy.
3. Silva described you as more than a vocalist—a visionary. How do you
interpret your role within COR, and how did this project push your artistic
boundaries?
Silva is such an exaggerator, haha. I simply poured passion into the song, harmonies, textures, my own touch and essence. I love working on a track until it drives me crazy in the best way and I can’t stop listening to it.
4. The “raw version” of “The Return” feels very intimate and unfiltered.
What do you think this version reveals about you as an artist compared to a
fully polished production?
The raw version is a gift, our process, something to enjoy. It invites listeners into the experience and shows my first steps in production: just a human being creating and finding inspiration.
5. This
campaign intentionally puts the spotlight on you. How does it feel to step into
that central role within a project known for its collaborative nature?
I wasn’t trying to be the center or the focus. I simply put my whole heart and passion into it, as I do with every collaboration. One person’s shine is everyone’s shine.
6. Can you tell us about your creative process when preparing for a
recording like this? Do you focus more on technical precision or emotional
immersion?
My creative process is mostly emotional and interpretative. Technique is always at the service of expression. Everything must flow according to what the song asks for.
7. Being recognized at an international level often comes with new
opportunities. How do you see this milestone shaping your future career,
especially with your Fiverr Pro qualification?
I hope more opportunities come. I’m a fighter… it would be nice to have a breath or a sigh from life. As for Fiverr Pro, I still see it as something a bit distant for now.
8. As someone breaking ground for Argentine indie artists, what message
would you like to send to other musicians in your home country who aspire to
reach a global audience?
My message is simple: discipline, love, passion, and vision. The rest comes naturally.
9. Looking ahead, what excites you most about your artistic journey after
“The Firsts” campaign, and what can listeners expect from you next?
Listeners
can get ready for my next release — a musical
revolution in my career.
Thank you for this space. It has been a pleasure answering your questions.
