Single Review: Pinkpool “Wrong”
Berlin’s
rising newcomers Pinkpool make a striking first impression with their debut
single “Wrong”, a track that feels
anything but mistaken. Blending raw emo urgency with bursts of screamo
aggression and infectious pop-punk hooks, the band delivers a sound that is
both chaotic and tightly controlled. It’s rare to hear a debut this confident,
especially from such a young group, but Pinkpool immediately establish a strong
identity.
“Wrong”
thrives on contrast. The verses simmer with emotional tension before erupting
into explosive, almost cathartic outbursts. There’s a clear sense of
authenticity running through the track—nothing feels forced or overproduced.
Instead, the band embraces imperfection, channeling it into something powerful
and relatable. The lyrics hit hard, reflecting themes of burnout, ambition, and
self-doubt, all delivered with a sincerity that resonates deeply.
What makes
this single stand out is its fearless structure. Pinkpool refuses to stick to a
predictable formula, weaving between melodic passages and abrasive breakdowns
with ease. The result is a dynamic listening experience that keeps you on edge
from start to finish.
For a first
release, “Wrong” is incredibly punchy, honest, and alive. Pinkpool prove they
have something real to say—and more importantly, the energy and talent to make
people listen.
I received
their new single “second 2 fast” a few days ago, set for release on April 3rd,
which I’ll be reviewing soon—along with an exclusive interview to help you get
to know them better. Stay tuned for the coming days.
