Single Review : Paralicyst “Conjure the Flames”
“Conjure
the Flames” by Paralicyst is a fierce statement of intent from this rising
death metal force out of Eugene, Oregon. From the very first seconds, they make
it clear: this is pure US death metal, rooted in the tradition of bands like Morbid
Angel, Cannibal Corpse, and Death.
The guitars deliver a sharp, punchy tone, cutting through with razor-edged riffs, while the drums unleash relentless blast beats that hit with crushing intensity. The vocal performance is a real highlight—brutal growls shift seamlessly into higher, piercing screams, sometimes enhanced with subtle vocal effects that add depth and menace. I especially enjoyed the tempo breaks reminiscent of classic Cannibal Corpse, injecting dynamic shifts that keep the track engaging.
There are
no surprises stylistically, but that’s not a weakness. “Conjure the Flames”
delivers exactly what death metal fans crave—power, aggression, and
conviction—making the upcoming EP one to anticipate eagerly. Well
played, guys.
