Lelahel Metal sits down with Karlie and Eastar (Geronimo Latumeten) to discuss their hypnotic new single Moonlit Dreams — a late-night blend of emotion, rhythm, and cinematic pop energy.
1. Moonlit
Dreams is described as capturing that “3AM magic.” Can you both share a
personal memory or feeling that inspired the track’s atmosphere?
Eastar: The moment at a gig when
you’re in the zone with the band and audience. That late-night energy where
everything just clicks — that’s the 3AM magic for me.
Karlie: For me it’s that moment when
everything’s quiet, but your mind’s still racing in the best way. It’s not
tired — it’s alive. That clarity at night was the feeling we chased in the
studio.
2. Eastar,
this track started as one of your solo ideas. At what moment did you realize
Karlie’s voice would bring the song to life in a unique way?
Eastar: My first idea was to sing it
myself. While working on Karlie’s project, I felt this would be perfect for
her. Her tone fit the song’s mood instantly.
3. Karlie,
how did working with Eastar as producer shape your own artistic expression on
this track?
Karlie: We already write together, so
there’s a lot of trust. Geronimo’s great at creating a soundscape you can move
in — it’s cinematic but still grounded. It let me explore a more hypnotic,
late-night side of my sound without losing the pop bite.
4. The
song balances shimmering synths with an emotional edge. How do you two work
together to find that sweet spot between energy and vulnerability?
Eastar: I think the danceable beat
perfectly combines with Karlie’s relaxed, calm vocals.
Karlie: We always look for balance. It
has energy, but it never loses emotion. It’s pop you can feel — it makes you
move and think for a second.
5. Your collaboration seems very
organic. Do you see yourselves continuing this creative partnership beyond
Moonlit Dreams and Karlie’s debut album?
Eastar: Yes, absolutely. I like how we
take the time to perfect the songs with an open mind.
Karlie: Definitely. There’s a lot of
trust between us — we give each other space to try things, no pressure. That
makes the process fun and real. We both care about making something that lasts.
6. Karlie, your music often carries
visual strength too — from fashion moments to live shows. How do visuals
connect with the late-night freedom vibe of Moonlit Dreams?
Karlie: Visually, it’s about movement
and reflection — not a glossy setup, more like a scene you walk into. The
light, the quiet, the space — it all mirrors the sound. I love when visuals
feel effortless but still tell a story.
7. Eastar, you’ve collaborated with
big names like Antoon and Big2. What feels different about working with Karlie
compared to your past projects?
Eastar: We have less time pressure on
it — that’s the biggest difference. It’s more about flow and vibe than
deadlines.
8. The remix of See Her comes
shortly after Moonlit Dreams. How does this remix reframe Karlie’s original
message for listeners on the dancefloor?
Eastar: I think the message doesn’t
change, but it’s a bit more danceable.
Karlie: Yes, I agree, the message
doesn’t change. It’s the See Her world — but turned up,
brighter, faster, louder. It’s got that late-night, almost rave energy. The
kind of freedom you feel when you stop thinking and just let go.
9. Karlie, your upcoming debut
album is your “most personal project yet.” How does Moonlit Dreams reflect that
journey of finding your sound and voice?
Karlie: It’s me trusting my instincts.
My sound’s evolved into something more defined — confident, sleek, emotional,
but never heavy. It’s pop with a pulse, and Moonlit Dreams fits
right in that space.
10. Finally, when fans hit play on
Moonlit Dreams at midnight on September 5th, what do you hope they’ll feel or
take away from the experience?
Eastar: Hope they will find their own
Moonlit Dream moment.
Karlie: I hope it gives them that
little rush :) the kind that makes you feel alive and clear at the same time. It’s
a late-night world, but it’s wide awake.
