Single Review: 9 o’clock Nasty – Game Fit
Leicester’s
fearless trio 9 o’clock Nasty have dropped their latest single, Game
Fit, on September 20, 2025, and once again prove why they are one of the UK
underground’s most unpredictable acts. Known for blending satire with brutal
musical precision, the band—Pete Brock, Ted Pepper, and Sydd Spudd—deliver a
track that is both menacing and darkly playful, embodying their ethos of
rebellion as raw theatre.
Game Fit is described by the band as “a
brutally simple beat, air, and violence,” and that’s exactly what it delivers.
The percussion lands like blunt force, while jagged guitar riffs slice through
the tension with unrelenting sharpness. Vocally, the performance teeters
between mocking and defiant, showcasing the dual-edge that makes 9 o’clock
Nasty’s sound instantly recognizable. The track feels like a call to arms in an
unstable world—a punkish reminder to “get your go bag ready” while still
winking at the absurdity of it all.
At Lelahel
Metal, we had the chance to interview the band a few months ago, and Game
Fit feels like a continuation of their fearless experimentation. We have
also reviewed their single Love in the Circle, and it’s clear there is a
strong progression here—Game Fit sounds tighter, heavier, and more
urgent, showing the band pushing their chaos to new heights. In a music
landscape obsessed with polish, 9 o’clock Nasty remain gloriously
raw—soundtracking the times with wit, menace, and an attitude that refuses to
conform.
