Haunted Radio emerged in 2022 as Adrián’s deeply personal project—a raw, emotional outlet blending metal with mysticism. With an international lineup, the band channels catharsis, chaos, and connection.
1. Haunted Radio
began in 2022 as a personal outlet for you, Adrián. What sparked the need to
create this new project, and how did it evolve from idea to reality?
The need
for personal catharsis via the music specially metal is something that never
leaves . so the spark is also people that support me on the past and also the
joy of playing and sing with a band.
2. The band
features a blend of local and international talent, including your cousin Dan
Roa from the U.S. How has the cross-border collaboration influenced Haunted
Radio’s sound?
He prints a
stoner influence since we enjoy together a mistic feeling on their trips here
on Costa Rica
3. You and drummer
David Roda have history together from your time in Asylum God. How did
reconnecting musically in Haunted Radio feel, and what has changed since those
days?
It feels
great he is a friend also is more than just a drummer , he also support me as a
singer so he is now printing his full energy into haunted radio
4. Camilo Pavez
(Moldo) is a well-known name in Costa Rica’s rock scene. What does he bring to
the table creatively and energetically?
Is amazing
to have his bass onboard. He brings a deep sound to the song . is th first time
he plays metal so is historic for our music culture
5. The name
'Haunted Radio' has a mysterious, evocative ring to it. What’s the story behind
it, and what does it represent to you personally?
I imagine
that if dead artists or sprits could talk they will manifest themselves via an
old radio so we want to be a channel for them.
6. Your music is
described as a channel for raw emotion and defiance. Can you dive into the
themes or personal struggles that drive your songwriting?
Anxious
feelings the feeling of dying and also the safe zone and energy of been able to
overcome life and our daily battles
7. How would you
define the sound of Haunted Radio? Are there specific influences or genres you
aim to blend or break away from?
Sopor
aeternus is a very big influence on the idea and the energy she transmit to me
but I am not so sad so we print more anger into this , also the old school
metal bands like Sanctuary Savatage King
Diamond as a terror founder
8. Given that the
band members are spread across different locations, how do you manage the
writing, recording, and rehearsal process?
Right now
we work remote and rehearsal once a year. This is also an open project to many
musicians that would like to give ideas .
9. What has been the reaction from the Costa
Rican metal scene so far? Have there been any standout moments or shows that
affirmed you’re on the right path?
We are underground we are not looking to shine on social media but is bad energy that we need to get to more people but we are trying to find different channels more like a voice over voice cult secret society
10. Are there any
plans for a debut EP or album in the near future? If so, what can fans expect
in terms of sound, themes, and release strategy?
We have
electric horrors out they are 3 songs available . Now this new single . and we
have a full album on our way is finish but we are still working on it it have 7
new songs . the release of our music is kind on caotic we don’t have a
marketing agency
11. With your
diverse lineup, do you envision Haunted Radio as a long-term project with
touring and international ambitions, or more of a studio-driven artistic
outlet?
If the
people claim and need this to be on. A live show this is something that we can
consider but for now we are far away from the people I get kind of anxious
performing live
12. Finally, what do you hope listeners take
away from Haunted Radio’s music—whether emotionally, intellectually, or
viscerally?
We just want to enjoy the sound and get crazy.
