Jackal Twins Unleash Debut Album ‘CUZCO’ – A Mathcore Maelstrom of Emotion and Chaos
New
England-based experimental mathcore trio Jackal Twins have released
their long-awaited debut LP, CUZCO, on March 7, 2025. Engineered by the
legendary Kurt Ballou (Converge, GodCity Studios) and mastered by Carl
Saff (KEN mode), CUZCO is a 12-track odyssey through
disillusionment, romantic despair, and unhinged sonic aggression.
Formed in 2017 by drummer/vocalist Ben Trussell and guitarist/vocalist Mike Palumbo, Jackal Twins began as a passion project fueled by a desire to push the boundaries of heavy music. With the addition of bassist Dante Lamusta in 2019, the band solidified its chaotic, genre-bending sound. Combining elements of mathcore, noise rock, jazz, post-rock, and more, CUZCO features blistering rhythms, surreal lyricism, and a vocal duality that ranges from haunting melodies to feral screams.
Entirely
self-funded and recorded DIY-style—often in improvised soundproofed closets—the
album reflects years of tireless dedication. Jackal Twins describe their sound
as “psychedelic noisy tunes for the hopeless romantic,” and CUZCO is
just that: a ferocious, passionate debut from a band unafraid to bare their
soul through sheer sonic violence. Vinyl plans and live performances are
on the horizon.
